If you are a British citizen and in trouble in Turkmenistan the emergency assistance is available at all times out-of-hours by calling the following number +99366 545015 . Your call will be taken by the Duty Officer. Please note that if we carry out a fee-bearing service, an additional call -out fee will be charged. Fee bearing services can be provided outside working hours in genuine emergencies only.

If you are arrested: we aim to contact you within 24 hours and visit you within 48hours. We can provide a list of local lawyers and notify your next of kin, if you wish.

In the event of a serious accident or illness: we aim to visit you in hospital within 24 hours.

In the event of death: we will inform the Foreign and Commonwealth Office immediately and ask them to contact the next of kin. We will advise on arrangements for the burial or repatriation of remains.

If you are without money we can advise you on how to transfer money from the UK or elsewhere and contact friends and relatives if you wish.
