The Technical Assistance Section of the Embassy works with various organisations, including government bodies non-governmental organisations and international donors. The small Grants Scheme of the Embassy funds projects under the following priority areas and all the projects should be developmental in nature:

• poverty reduction
• sustainable development
• education
• democracy
• civil society and
• rule of law

The Small Grants Scheme cannot be used by individuals and private sector organisations. As funds are limited, projects should not normally cost more than US$ 7,000 - $12,000. While we consider all the proposals we receive, our funds are limited and we cannot guarantee funding for any particular proposal. Project funds are normally administered by the Embassy Technical Assistance Officer and Assistant.

We welcome publicity on successful of the project. Projects are monitored by the Technical Assistance Officer and Assistant on a regular basis. Recipient organisations are obliged to produce a report on completion of the project.
